After the

session

01 APPLYING AND TAKE OFF THE PLASTIC WRAP

After 3-5 days, take off the wrap. It is not good to wear the wrapping too often or too long, because there is a risk of bacteria formation.

02 WASHING AND CLEANING

Clean the wound with lukewarm water and, if you want, with a pH-neutral, disinfecting soap. Do not use a sponge or cloth. Dry the wound by carefully dabbing it with a clean towel. The wound must be kept clean and dry at any moment.

03 APPLYING LOTION

After drying, lotion should be applied to the tattoo. During the healing process it is advisable to use an appropriate lotion (like coconut oil or hustle butter) to help the healing. Although too thick or too often applied lotion can soak the skin too much, which leads to swelling. The loss of color and the development of pustules can be the consequence. Using too little lotion can lead to a thick crust on the tattoo, which can rupture and cause scarring as well as loss of color.

04 AVOID DIRT ON THE WOUND

Sweat (bacteria) and dirt can cause inflammation. That is why the wound must be kept as clean as possible. Sport and other sweat inducing activities should be resigned from for the time being. (Light activities after a week, competitive serious sports after 14 days)

05 DO NOT SCRATCH

During the healing process it is completely normal for the skin to itch. Do not scratch under any circumstances, because it will damage your tattoo.

06 NO SUN OR SOLARIUM

Direct sun light should be avoided, because it can lead to fading of color. The irritated and thin skin is prone to a sunburn, which could lead to shedding of skin and tattoo. Healed tattoos can be protected from fading by applying sunscreen. Always use sunscreen after fully healed

07 NO LONG BATHS AND SHOWERS

Full bathing or long showers can make the tattoo swell up, which again leads to color loss. Bathing in the sea, in lakes or other public bathing options should be completely avoided during healing, because it can lead to infection.

08 NO FUZZY AND TIGHT CLOTHING

Tight clothes can rub against the wound, irritating it. Fluff can cause inflammation. Cotton clothing is the best option, because it takes in ichor well.

09 IF THE TATTOO STICKS TO CLOTHING

the area should be soaked with lukewarm water. Free the area very slowly and gently. Afterwards clean and put cream on.

10 HEALTHY DIET, BETTER HEALING

Be careful to consume enough vitamin c, since too little of it can impair the healing. Alcohol destroys vitamins and should therefore be avoided.
